CAST

archieArchie Cubarrubia
An avid writer, musician, and artist, Archie is a founding member of DMG. Archie is a proud product and now faculty member of the Washington Improv Theater (WIT) training program. He began taking classes at WIT as a new year’s resolution and hasn’t left since. A policy wonk by day, hip-hop dancer wannabe by night, and an all-around sketchy guy on the weekends, Archie is proud to be part of the the most attractive and academically credentialed improv troupe in DC.

alainaAlaina Harris
Alaina is a graduate from the three best schools in the great State of Alabama: Birmingham-Southern College, The University of Alabama, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her tenure at BSC, this southern belle was the standards chair of her sorority, a job that meant ensuring the girls did not drink or smoke while wearing their Greek letters, always sent handwritten thank you notes, and knew where to place the oyster fork in a formal dinner setting (it is the only fork to go to the right side of the spoons). A member of the WIT classes program since April 2007, Alaina is as overeducated as the rest of her fellow DMGs. She’s also a government paper pusher by day, a cancer fundraiser and triathlete by night, and is always a mischievous minx any time there is bourbon involved!

Sarah

Sarah Winston
As a founding member of DMG, Sarah’s informal improv training started in elementary school where she made up scenes with various stuffed animals in her bedroom. Over the years, she continued to sharpen her wit while teaching kids how to play band instruments and working with various performing arts organizations. In between graduate degrees,  Sarah started taking formal improv classes, first at the DC Improv, then at Washington Improv Theater. When she’s not on stage, either as a musician, or an improviser, she can be found saluting the sun on her yoga mat.

jamieJamie Lantinen
Jamie cut his teeth in improv at the Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, MN.  It was there he learned terms like “cut your teeth” and “you’re sorta funny.”  Upon arriving in DC, Jamie continued teething with unparalleled instruction at the Washington Improv Theater and was a founding member of The Quest.  Jamie is thrilled to be a member of the no-holds barred DMG.  Jamie’s other performance credits include some musical theater and British farce.  In addition to balancing budgets during the day and using big words like “unparalleled” Jamie is learning piano, thinking about ordering the P90x challenge, and trying to keep up with his life.

DIRECTOR

bjB.J. Rudell
B.J. absolutely loves directing. After hundreds of performances with Improvocation and with WIT’s Mainstage ensemble (currently known as “onesixtyone”), he is now focused on teaching improv to anyone who wants to learn, or to learn more. A former student of WIT, since 2002 BJ has taught improv to hundreds of people of all skill levels. On the side, he also has taught hundreds of high school students through the Close Up Foundation and started two tutoring programs: one in New York City and another in Southeast Washington.
